Ohio County Commissioners
1. Ignored Security Flaws Document
(2023) Due to the vulnerabilities found in the Dominion ICX machines in other states, CCVO reached out to the County Commissioners of the twelve counties that use the same machines.
Some of the requests that were not answered include:
-
Activate the Ohio Cyber Reserve to inspect our machines in Ohio.
-
Have the Ohio Voting Machines' examiners to detect and disable any wireless modems.
-
Confirm that the software patch is installed and addresses the concerns mentioned above.
-
Confirm that the machines do not contain the unauthorized software, MS SQL, found in others.
The security flaws warning document went to 36 County Commissioners in 12 counties, none of them replied.
2. 40 Ohio County Commissioners Ignore
(2025) CCVO sent a request to the forty Ohio Counties affected by the March 2025 Executive Order that will federally decertify their counties voting machines. The request was a proactive approach that would allow those counties to save money, comply with federal executive orders as well as their fiscal responsibilities to the citizens at the same time. We provided real life examples of an Ohio county cost savings by returning to 100% hand counting of ballots. We pointed out (from their own handbook) the language, "to act in the best interests of the public” from both a cost savings perspective, as well as a security issue. Not one of the 120 County Commissioners bothered to reply to the document.
